Month 3: Deep Down Clean

You know those Neutrogena commercials that have some perfectly-complected Disney Channel princess telling you how "deep down clean" the facewash works when you know the girl has never had a pimple in her life and she has a whole team of people working on her to keep it that way? I hate those commercials. And I hate Neutrogena. And I hate how many times I've tried Neutrogena hoping that THIS time it will be like the commercials.

Well I've been doing the oil cleansing method for my facewash () and like it, but I tried something out that I'm pretty sure I love.

Normally you would massage the oil mixture into your face, cover with a warm wet washcloth and leave for 1 minute, then wipe entire face with the cloth. Well I was jumping in the shower anyway, so I decided to try to utilize the steam from the shower. AmAzing.

Here's what I did:
1. Rub castor oil on my face, especially on nose and chin (where my pores seem to be as big as moon craters)
2. Shower as normal, leaving my hair for last so I didn't get soap on my face accidentally
3. After I did everything else I wiped my face with a wet washcloth
4. While in the shower I massaged Olive Oil into my skin, then wiped again with the washcloth so it wasn't too greasy.

I got out of the shower and my skin felt fresh, clean, smooth, and extremely (dare I say it?) supple. It hasn't cured all of my pore woes. After all, I've only done it once, but I totally plan to do it again tonight. I think I'm going to try the Olive Oil part on the rest of my body to.

Steam: it does a body good!
